in the district court for Hennepin county upon the relation of David C. Stephenson, directed to respondent as sheriff of said
county, by whom relator was held pursuant to an extradition warrant issued upon request of the governor of Indiana for his
rendition as a fugitive from the justice of that state. Upon hearing, the court, Frank E. Reed, Judge, quashed the writ and
remanded relator to the custody of respondent. Relator appealed to this court, where the matter was referred to the Honorable
Alfred P. Stolberg, former judge of the nineteenth judicial district, as referee, to hear and report the evidence and make
